Well, that’s a wrap! It has been one kick a** summer for the Classic Rock, FREE 98.1 Arby’s Road Crew!

Where do we even begin …when we last left off, the summer had just begun for the Classic Rock FREE 98.1 Arby’s Road Crew and we were hanging out at The Home County Music Festival! Rounding off July was the 2017 London Pride Parade, which the Classic Rock Road Crew was proud to be a part of as it ended July with a bang, making it the largest turn out to date!

August had a busy start and within the first few weeks the Classic Rock Road Crew could be seen at the London Ribfest, the Ronald McDonald House Charity Golf Classic, Boston Pizza Charity Golf tournament, the Forest City Business Equipment Golf Tournament, hanging out at Slo-Pitch City, Ball Hockey International London, and Port Stanley!

With mid-August approaching, the feeling of Back to School was in the air! Classic Rock, FREE 98.1 partnered for another year of ROCK BACK TO SCHOOL with Preferred Insurance, The Thames Valley Education Foundation, The Salvation Army and the Real Canadian Superstore. The Classic Rock Road Crew was out at the Real Canadian Superstore in St. Thomas, Oakridge, and Oxford, and at Preferred Insurance throughout the month to gather backpacks, school supplies and funds for those in need returning back to school.

The end of August brought back to back events for the Classic Rock Road Crew. From the Wheels of Hope Cycling Tour, and the RIP for a Cure for Juvenile Diabetes at Rocky’s Harley-Davidson to car shows at Wortley Road, Ailsa Craig and Wharncliffe Home Hardware – the Road Crew was everywhere! The President’s Breakfast at Fanshawe College brought August to an end and Classic Rock, FREE 98.1 was proud to be a part of celebrating Fanshawe College’s big 5-0!

Looking ahead to September there was no slowing down as the evenings and weekends were packed! We kicked off the month LIVE at the Western Fair on opening day before 54-40 hit the stage. We were also there for the opening ceremonies of the Beatles Festival which took over downtown for the weekend. Throughout the Western Fair, The Classic Rock Road Crew was busy taking in the fair sights, smells and sounds all ten days! On top of the fair, the Freedom 55 PGA Financial Championship,  the Walk for Wellspring, the TVWS Ride for PITT Hopkins and Cruise for a Cause in support of Vanier Children’s Services at Rocky’s Harley Davidson had us all over the city for the second weekend of September! Mid-September meant the Classic Rock Morning Tailgates visits were beginning and we teamed up with King of the Pigs to deliver a delicious lunch every day, along with a visit from our morning show. We came fully stocked with prizes from the Real Canadian Superstore, Start.ca, Big Game Road Trips and Fire Roasted Coffee!  Golf tournaments also took over mid-September as the Classic Rock Road Crew was at the Tiger in the Woods – Bethany’s Hope Foundation Charity Golf Tournament, the Unity Project Charity Golf Classic, and the TMTA London Region Annual Golf Tournament. Before we knew it, September was coming to an end – a very warm end! Rounding off the summer, the Classic Rock Road Crew was LIVE at the 2017 Airshow London, the Knight’s Home Opener at 93&King and onsite for Honeymoon Suite at Feast Fest! Plus, we made our way to the Seize the Day Walk/Run and Walk for the Fund and Real Canadian Superstore grand re-opening at 825 Oxford Street!

What an incredible way to end the summer … from charity golf tournament and festivals to concerts with Nazareth, 54-40, Trooper, the Gene Simmons Band, Burton Cummings and  The Wall Flowers – the list goes on and we were excited to be there for it all! The Classic Rock, FREE 98.1 Arby’s Road Crew is looking forward to what the fall and winter have to offer and we hope to see you out there! Don’t forget if you have an event you want us at, make sure you submit the details under “Submit an Event” under the “Concerts and Events” listing at free981.com!
