Circles London is celebrating it’s ONE YEAR anniversary and wants to see you there! Visit the White Oaks Mall Family Centre on Wednesday, January 17th for the Circles London open hours to spread awareness of the initiative and the success!
The Circles London initiative aims to partner with Londoners currently on social assistance to obtain economic self sufficiency. The program works collaboratively with Community volunteers to assist Leaders with their identified goals and needs. Together, we work to remove complex Systemic barriers that continue the cycle of poverty of many Londoners
Poverty affects our entire community, and too many of our neighbors can’t participate in everything London has to offer. More than 62,000 Londoners are living with barriers of poverty. We were hit hard by the 2008 recession, and many of us continue to struggle. Too often many of us see poverty as an issue of individual bad choices, but poverty is much more complex.
BECOME AN ALLY!
This volunteer role is a one night a week commitment for a total of roughly eight hours per month. Allies will partner with leaders (program participants) and will extend our weekly Circles meetings over dinner.
ESSENTIAL CARE FOR CHILDREN
Providing quality care during a Circle meeting means that families living with barriers of poverty can attend. It also means we are investing in the next generation.
MAKE A MEAL WITH MEANING
Every week, our groups meet over a meal. Preparing a meal for our community means much more than just food. It speaks volumes that each member of our group matters!
Community Change Makers and Circles leaders (participants) meet together to deepen our impact for our community.
