WOODSTOCK 50-COULD IT BE CANCELLED?
When holding a massive concert it is really important to make sure you have a permit…I mean really important!
Woodstock 50 tickets were supposed to go on sale this morning to go along with the celebration of Earth Day. Sadly, that didn’t happen. What has reportedly happened is that they do not have a permit yet to hold such a massive concert at Watkins Glen!
Woodstock talent manager Amanda Phelan wrote in an email:
“There is currently a hold on the Woodstock 50 on-sale date.” We are waiting on an official press statement from Woodstock 50 regarding updated announce, ticket pricing, and overall festival information. We will get this information to you as soon as we receive it.”
Pitchfork reports that festival organizers have not yet to secured a mass gathering permit from the village of Watkins Glen, where the festival is supposed to take place. The law states, until a permit is acquired, no tickets can be sold.
So for now we hold on to the hope that this is just a misunderstanding that can be quickly worked out. We’ll keep you posted!
